INTRODUCTION
RUDDY'S KITCHEN LIMITED (RKL) is a limited liability company whose present status is wholly indigenous. It is founded by Ruth Ibrahim (Mrs). RKL operated as an Enterprise for well over a decade before it's incorporation as a LLC in 2017.
RKL is involved in affairs that keep the stomach stable, healthy and energized for productivity. We're also concerned with all the activities that give colour and beauty to celebrations.
RKL is both an outdoor and indoor events company.
CATERING
In RKL, we believe in healthy, tasty food. Our philosophy is that food qualifies to be called good only when it is prepared in a clean environment.
Therefore, as a company, our resolve is to prepare our food in a hygienically clean environment. To ensure this, we have an open door policy, whereby clients can visit our cooking areas while their orders are being carried out. We cater for all manner of events. Ranging from weddings, ceremonies, anniversaries, conferences, etc.
Our staff are well trained and understand that a contract is deemed successful when the clients' feedback says 'satisfactory'. We have a deep understanding of both respect and courtesy. At events, we politely and joyfully serve (where need be), knowing that people eat at events in celebration of the occasion and not because they can't afford food in their homes. And also because our tasty food is as good as nothing if people do not enjoy it because of poor service attitude.
Our joy comes when at the end of an event, clients call to say 'waoh Ruddy, your recipe is out of this world. How and where did you assemble this exceptional team?'
We also cater for both individuals and families/groups and corporate bodies. Our breakfast is ready for delivery from as early as 6 am. At RKL, we work with your time. We're reputed for prompt delivering.
For occasions and events, we meet with clients to have what we call 'menu blend.' We offer useful suggestions and tips in selection of dishes on the menu. Our objective here is to have a nice blend of varieties with respect to social and cultural preferences of invites and attendees.
Our services are customized and flexible, to suit preferences, cultures as well as budgets. This has enabled us meet the needs of clients, whatever their income.
EVENTS PLANNING
Ruddy Kitchen Limited also engages in event planning services.
Some clients like to undertake all aspects of the events by themselves, but however have little or no knowledge of planning and costing.
Our contract here is to work with them in planning the event. We provide material and equipment costings according to their budget.
DECORATION
RKL also engages in venue decoration and beautification. We excellently transform both indoor and outdoor event venues into very beautiful, cozy and elegant venues that suit specific occasions.
We fully understand the impact of an environment to an occasion. Decent people don't eat in unkempt and dirty looking environment. And this is the main reason some guests don't eat at some events. Mediocres call it pride, but we at Ruddy's Kitchen know there's a direct link between appetite and environment.
Therefore, we give a royal touch to even the most ordinary looking places. To be modest, we have waohed clients almost every time we have decorated a venue.
RENTALS
RKL also offer rental services. These range from cooling vans chairs, canopies (small and tent sized), tables and decoration accessories. We also hire out cooking utensils, plates, cutlery as well as drinking glasses.
Our cooking utensils include: all sizes of cooking pots, pot stands, cooking spoons, wooden spatlers, large basins, plastic drums, coolers, etc.
TRAINING
RKL offers both short and long term courses in the following areas:
Cookery
We train students on how to excellently prepare both African and Continental meals. Students learn the basics for every selected meal, starting from drawing up shopping list, to identifying fresh groceries.
In addition, they also learn how to professionally set a table and fanciful ways of displaying dishes.
Upon graduation, each student is expected to excellently prepare three African meals, different from the ones prevalent in the cultures they come from; and also three Continental cuisines, prevalent especially among the French, Italians and Spanish.
Baking/Pastry
Students learn how to bake different types of cake and several kinds of pastries.
Due to the trending nature of the industry, RKL encourages students to be both inventive and creative. For this will bring uniqueness and causethem to stay ahead in their game.
Upon graduation, our graduands are required to bake and decorate a three tier cake, and in addition three finger foods which may include samosa, spring roll, spiced bons, pies, kerb proteins, etc.
Decorating
RKL teach students how to effectively and efficiently transform a venue. They learn colour blending, greenery generation, smoke/fire work artistry, etc. They also learn different decoration styles and material usage, that is, materials fitting for different occasions.
All our training sessions start from 8am to 2pm, and 8am to 6pm for intensive programmes. Our students have the privilege of having hands on knowledge as they could join our team as adhoc staff and witness how contracts are executed.
In RKL, the only mandatory requirement is INTEREST! Anyone interested in learning will be committed to the discipline that the training process entails.
Over the years, we have observed that students who do exceptionally well are those who came with a self interest in the chosen activity.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
At Ruddy's Kitchen Limited, we take Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) very seriously.
HEALTH
It is our policy that only healthy people are engaged. RKL carries out a thorough medical check before recruiting.
We're in the food industry and understand the implications of allowing unhealthy people and habits have direct contacts with food.
Our staff are told that they must maintain healthy lifestyles. We also carry out a periodic medical check on all staff to ensure no staff is infested with any communicable disease that will make our business environment unhealthy for clients and other staff.
Our health policy includes:
- no smoking and no alcohol consumption
- partly bad/contaminated materials are deemed unfit and should never be used to prepare meals. This is to avoid food poisoning which in many cases have fatal effects.
SAFETY
RKL emphasizes that if a job cannot be done in a safe manner, it shouldn't be done at all. This is because statistics show that unsafe acts have a ripple effect on the carrier of the act, and others in the chain of that activity.
Our safety policy includes:
- no phones in the kitchen or cooking area
- lids are never to be removed with bare hands while pots are on fire.
- oversized clothings are not to be worn. They could lead to a trip and fall and consequently a major accident.
- no heated arguments around cooking areas. These could result to fights which many times is deadly. The penalty for disobedience is outright sack without any form of renumeration.
ENVIRONMENT
Tasty meals are good and important to our health, also equally important is the environment from whence they are prepared.
Our cooking environment is of top most priority to us. This is the reason we run an open door policy, where clients can visit our cooking area while executing contracts.
We ensure waste generated is adequately covered and thereafter properly and promptly disposed. RKL also believes in Green Revolution. Our policy is to plant at least one tree in all our company owned outdoor cooking environment.
